We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has visited us this year. We have had a really successful year with our visitor numbers going from strength to strength. The team have really enjoyed welcoming new and previous visitors back to site for both our standard weekend days and our special events, with our Bursledon Bake Off event in August and the Harvest Weekend in September being particular highlights for us. At the time of writing we have one event left which is our Christmas Fair & Santa’s Grotto on 1st December before we close the site up for the winter.
But don’t worry the team will still be coming in regularly to check on the Mill and the rest of the site and we will be carrying on with our Mill Volunteer training too. We will also be planning for an exciting 2019 with a great programme of spring events in mind when we re-open in March.
We currently have a very small, but dedicated, team of one Mill Assistant volunteer and would love to grow the team! If you are interested in working at a beautiful and unique site and would like the chance to learn the traditional skills of a Miller in an entirely wind powered windmill then this is your opportunity! You’d be joining us at an exciting time as we get the Mill idling again on a regular basis and get the team trained up and the Mill prepared to start milling flour again. You would need to be available on alternate Fridays for 1 or 2 hours training each day and have a reasonable level of physical fitness. If you are interested please contact Cerian Gale cerian.gale@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk for more information.
